Where these dates come from

The Canadian Centennial was a one-year commemorative. Its guns were numbered in 1967 in their own sequence starting at 1. The range comes from Winchester's published production figures, 90,301 made out of the 97,395 scheduled, so any serial number in range dates to 1967. There is no year-by-year table because there was only one year.

  • 1967: The Canadian Centennial rifles and carbines were numbered in 1967 in their own sequence starting at 1. In all, 90,301 were produced, against the 97,395 that had been scheduled, so the sequence ends near 90,301.

What to know about Canadian Centennial serial numbers

  • Unlike several later commemoratives, the Canadian Centennial did not use a letter prefix.
  • 97,395 is the number scheduled, not the number produced. Do not treat it as the last serial number.
  • The 20-inch carbine and the 26-inch rifle are not separate serial number runs. Pairs with consecutive numbers were sold together.
